Music Reading Workshop
If we assume that songs can be learned from hearing, then being able to actually read a score would be even more convenient for a singer. It is very rewarding to be able to interpret and understand a composer’s piece. Music is a language, so you need to practice in order to utilize all of its possibilities.
This course focuses on developing sight reading. Music theory will be practiced in horizontal reading (melodic line) and vertical reading (harmonies, two or more voices singing). In addition, basic music theory is necessary in learning how to sight read.
The workshop will follow the training offered by l’Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, for those wishing to acquire corresponding official certificates.
